About the Work:
As a vintage collector, I’m drawn to playful imagery and objects that carry a sense of familiarity and nostalgia. My paintings reimagine everyday forms — often inspired by retro design and childhood ephemera — through bold colour, scale, and simplified composition.
Working primarily with enlarged, graphic subjects, I explore the emotional resonance of ordinary objects and the memories they quietly hold. Through repetition, reduction, and carefully balanced colour relationships, the paintings create moments of stillness that feel both playful and contemplative.
Influenced by vintage aesthetics, commercial design, and abstraction, the work balances hard-edged structure with softness and imperfection. Visible brushwork, simplified forms, and subtle shifts in proportion allow the paintings to move between representation and abstraction, inviting viewers to bring their own associations and experiences to the work.
By isolating familiar imagery and transforming it through scale and colour, I aim to create visual spaces that evoke nostalgia, curiosity, and a renewed appreciation for everyday objects that are often overlooked.
